stamp, stamp, stamp
I have been wanting to make personalized labels for a while. I know there are plenty of label makers out there, but I just can't bring myself to shell out the cash just yet. I thought about iron on transfers... but last week, while surfing the net, I found a reasonable custom rubber stamp maker and I thought, why not? With a fabric ink pad and twill tape, maybe I could make some starter labels. And I could also use the stamp to decorate note cards, business cards, bag etc. So many possibilities.
So, I prepared the artwork (all they ask for is a jpg to size) and placed my order. $7.90 and four days later it arrived in my mail box. Fun! Stamp. Stamp. Stamp.

this is the best! I ordered a rubber stamp recently but was really unhappy with the quality and now I'm really excited to try again! Just noticed you've recently read The Time Travlers Wife, one of my all time fav's. Finished it on the way home from Greece; made a fool of myself bawling on the plane...oh, well!

Thanks for the tip. I've been wanting to make labels for things I make and am wondering where people get woven labels made. I'm assuming they would be out of my price range anyway and this would fit the bill much better.
Regarding your earlier post, I'm sorry to hear about the negative comment you received at work. I felt the same way when wasn't offered a job I didn't want in the first place. I still wanted to be considered the best candidate, which apparently I was not.
I'm not even sure I want to be a graphic designer anymore which is probably why I haven't drummed up any new business in the past year. There are things I love about it, but many more things I definitely don't love. For instance I worry my projects to death and end up not making much money because I can't bill for an extra 12 hours of obsession and fretting per project.
Truthfully, I would prefer to just be a good mom and stepmom and occasionally make stuff and maybe sell a little of it. What do you call that career?
Love your clutch. Bagmaking is my next big skill to tackle. You rock!

Hi,
This is a great idea! I am doing the same thing but came across a problem. What kind of stamp pad do you use for fabric? I tested a couple of stamp pads that I bought from Joann's and one of them washed off. Ironing it didn't even help! Your help about the stamp pads would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I love the weekender bag that you made.

Such a good idea! I have been searching for a creative solution to the label dilemma as well...
