Last night I was able to steal away a few extra minutes to finish my travel embroidery project. I already had a sampler drawn and transfered - fun patterns from Sublime Stitching's Craftopia. But, now I needed to gather the rest of my supplies and something to hold them.
First, I grabbed my colored pencils and played on a photocopy of my sampler - picking the colors I would use. Once finished, I organized my colored floss into my handy dandy StitchBow organizer (love the floss bows and easy roll up package). This took longer than expected, I kept changing my mind on the colors - totally indecisive. Then I headed to the basement to sew up one of my favorite MS dish towels into a draw string bag. It is big enough to hold my pattern, hoop, scissors (kids safety scissors for the trip, don't want the airport security to get upset) stitch guide and needles. Quick and easy, nothing fancy, just something to throw in my carry-on and keep things in one place.
Now after all this prep work, lets hope I get a little time to work on it while I am gone. And a little time to ready my new book Eat, Pray, Love. Kelli wrote about this book a while back - then last weekend my niece told me I HAD to read it... I hope it is as good as they say.
